Organic Premium Sencha brews a bright, vegetal flavor that is slightly savory with a clean mineral finish. Robust enough to serve with food but is also delicious chilled. The second or third infusion yields a smooth, almost buttery mid-note.

Extra Info:

Japan is extremely efficient in its tea production reaching yields of 1500 pounds per acre. Despite the fact that mechanical plucking is used, the tea made is generally considered the best green tea in the world. Interestingly, due to its northern latitude all the tea fields have large fans covering the whole acreage. The fans are turned on during cold snaps to circulate the air and protect the tea bush from freezing.

Sencha is commonly used in Japanese tea ceremonies marking events of personal importance.  For ceremonies marking life altering events, matcha is used. In this type of ceremony it is the ritual that is of paramount importance as the individual is being acknowledged.

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 160°F. Add 1 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 2 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Super fancy sencha green tea

Origin:

Reviews:

This tea will take you on a journey of self-realization. It's that good. I enjoy an extra strong cup in the morning then re-use the leaves several times throughout the day (with increasing steep times each cup). Doing this I have found my inner red panda.

Really nice smooth taste with almond-like flavours. I'm enjoying this one while relaxing in the evening, as it's not too excessive on the caffiene content

Our order arrived very quickly and we are very happy with the quality of the tea. We have been brewing this tea hot and then chilling it and drinking it iced. It has been equally enjoyable hot as well.
