Gaiwans

Gaiwan literally means bowl and lid and is a classic Chinese way to brew tea. Most gaiwans are either glazed ceramic, or porcelain and can be used to brew any kind of tea. Clay gaiwans made from Yixing clay or other clays should be dedicated to one type of tea for brewing due to the porous nature of the clay and can effect the taste of the subsequent brewed cup.
