For high elevation, only use the 195 or lower setting as kettle will not turn off at the 212 setting (since the boiling point of water is lower as elevation increases).

Fast and quiet, this 1.7-liter water kettle has precise settings for all tea varieties, making it easy to achieve a water temperature that is ideal for your tea of choice. It also adds a "keep warm" feature that will maintain a selected temperature for an hour. Interior is entirely stainless steel. Exterior is cool-touch PBA-free plastic.

Please note for high elevations: Kettle auto shut-off feature will not activate for the 212-degree setting, because the temperature is unachievable well-above sea level. The 195-degree setting is perfect for these conditions.

Care

Do not use chemical, steel, or abrasive cleaners on the outside of the kettle. Wipe with a damp cloth using a mild cleanser. Rinse out the inside of the kettle with clean water.

This kettle is for boiling pure water only. It is not recommended to steep tea in; for that you need a teapot.

High Elevation Note If you are using this kettle at high elevation (5000+ ft above sea level), please note that the boiling point of water is lower than 212 degrees F. As such, if you try to use the 212 button settling on this kettle at high elevation, the machine is not programmed to turn off when it reaches boiling and the automatic cycle will not turn off. Using the 195 setting will get the water to boiling at high elevation, just right for a cup of black tea.

This is a great variable-temperature kettle. At 1500 watts, it is fast, and the temperature settings are accurate. The 360 rotating base makes it easy to use and store. My wife and I got this about two months ago; we use it 4 - 5 times a day and it is still like new (unlike the Pino, which literally blew up on us). This VarieTea is highly recommended if you drink many different kinds of teas.

All those years of filling a kettle putting it on the stove and waiting for it to boil... No more. This brings fresh water to boil in 2 minutes or you can set it for another type of tea with quicker results and it will hold the water at that temperature. 3 quick beeps and a green light (as well as displayed tem.) tells you your water is ready
