The soil conditions and altitude in the Usambara Mountain estate combine to give this Assamese varietal distinctive fruit notes in compliment to the traditional malted flavor profile.

This tea is quite fine and may slip through a traditional tea ball. We recommend using a fine-mesh filter, such as our brew in mug infuser or a paper/cloth filter.

Extra Info:

Moderate caffeine levels. Full body. Takes cream nicely.

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 200°F. Add 1 of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 5 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Broken Pekoe #1

Origin:

Usambara Mountains, Tanzania

Reviews:

This is perfect for a morning tea. It brews quickly and dark and takes cream and sweetener very well. Rich malty flavor -- stronger than the Scottish Breakfast, to my taster, but not bitter. I will be ordering more, thank you!
