Oat straw consists of the green, unripe leaves and stems from oat grass. Flavor is a soft and mildly grassy, herbaceous and slightly sweet flavor with a fresh scent, free of any musty notes. When brewed as tea, green oat straw is a popular "nerve tonic" to rejuvenate after exhaustion.
Oats are a high source of Vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols) and additionally contain B, iron, manganese, zinc, calcium, silicon and selenium.
Bring filtered or spring water to 212°F. Add 2 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 5 minutes.
