Our Mint Spice Green Tea is a light, uplifting blended green tea. The aroma is mostly that of spearmint, while the flavor is a more complex blend of spearmint and green tea, with anise appearing as only a light aftertaste. Even if you normally dislike the flavor of anise, don't rule this tea out: The anise only adds a hint of complexity to the dominant flavor of spearmint, rather than dominating the flavor as anise often does.

Extra Info:

Spearmint is a very versatile plant, both in its uses and its growing condition requirements. Though it can be grown in a variety of regions, it grows best in moist soil; for this reason, it is actually an invasive species in the Great Lakes region. And gardeners beware: Plant spearmint (and other mint species) in a small pot before placing it in the ground, or it may take over your entire yard!

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 170°F. Add 1 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 3 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Organic: green tea, cinnamon, spearmint, anise

Origin:

Blended in Albuquerque by NM Tea Co.

Reviews:

This has a light taste – thanks to the green tea – but the mint and spice combo is out-of-this-world! It’s unique but refreshing. I taste anise and cinnamon, two of my fave spices. The blend of peppermint is sweetened with spearmint, which is light but recognizable. Often spearmint is overshadowed by other flavors but this is a nice tribute. This is a great after dinner tea, and I’m sure it’s amazing iced! Will try that out soon as spring/summer are approaching (YAY – finally)! :)
