Kava Kava Root, also known as Piper methysticum, has mild sedative properties. Piper methysticum also plays a large role in cultural and religious ceremonies of the Pacific because of its purported ability to allow a person to achieve a "higher level of consciousness."

Bring filtered or spring water to 212°F. Add 1 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 5 minutes.
