The Kama Sutra is a book on the science of love - Kama translates as desire, and Sutra means manual. In the spirit of sensuousness and discovery offered by the ancient text we offer this fabulous tea - a real mélange a spice and floral notes.

Extra Info:

A true Indian style chai, this blend is based on good strong Indian teas blended with an ancient spice recipe almost as old as the Kama Sutra itself. The taste is heavenly - ginger and cardamom intermingle with cinnamon, cloves and hints of black pepper. The full-bodied cup is rounded out with floral notes that tempt the taste buds and will have you crying out for more. Brew a pot today and raise a cup to the science of love.

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 212°F. Add 1 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 5 minutes.

Other Brewing Options:

Make a "Chai Latte" without a milk steamer:
1) Use 1.5 teaspoons of Kama Sutra Chai and steep for 5 minutes.
2) While the tea is steeping take heavy cream, add in some vanilla extract, sugar, and a touch of boiling water. Shake the cream vigorously (to simulate the steaming process)
3). When the tea is ready, pour the cream mixture in. You even get a nice layer of froth on top!

Ingredients:

  • Black tea, ginger, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, rose petals, jasmine, lavender

Reviews:

Very interesting blend of flavors. Too floral for me, but I don't like floral notes. I was hoping the ginger and cloves would dominate, but no.

I am a Chai lover and this tea meets all expectations! The addition of rose, lavender and jasmine don't get in the way of the warm spice blend characteristic to chai...in fact, they make it a combination worthy of my new favorite variation. Thanks!

BEST chai at this place. I may never go back to bagged chai ever again.

This tea was exactly what I wanted! I love floral and I love chai, and this blend melds them perfectly. Neither aspect is overpowering: it's not perfumey, nor do the spices dominate. It's on the milder side of chais, but you really wouldn't want them any stronger or they'd mask the rose, jasmine and lavender. Definitely one of my favorite chais!

This chai tea surprised me. The Indian spices didn't stand out the way most chai teas do. I thought the floral notes stood out a lot more. That being said, I still thought it was a nice tea. If you don't like chai teas, this might just be a tea for you to try. There's spice in there but doesn't overpower the other flavors. And even if you do like typical chai teas, I think this is still worth a try for something a little different.

One of my most favorite chais! The rose, lavender and jasmine give it a graceful edge, countering that typical chai "zing". I add a stick of cinnamon to the pot when I want a little more kick.
