First Flush means that this tea is the new spring growth and picked in March. It has a delicate body with a wonderful alpine complexity, distinct to the first harvest of Darjeeling. A tea for all occasions! Traditionally enjoyed pure, without cream or sugar. However, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice can be a lovely accompaniment.

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 190°F. Add 1.5 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 44259 minutes.

This is my favorite black tea from NM tea co. I don't recommend following the 44259 minute steep time listed on this page though, I tried that and my brew was a touch bitter.

It is difficult to find good tea where I live, and even harder to find first flush Darjeeling. Over the years I have hunted for good Darjeeling but It is more expensive and therefore slower to sell, and usually stale. The New Mexico Tea Co.'s first flush has ended the search. It is the finest Darjeeling I have ever tasted.

I used to have my family send me this Tea from Germany because I could not find a store that not only had it in stock but also made sure that it wasn't sitting in the shelf for months. Now I just order it online from New Mexico Tea Co. and get it within a few days. Just received a sample of the Earl Grey and will order it the next time as well.
