Indulge in the luxurious experience of Chocolate Earl Grey, a sophisticated take on the beloved British tea classic that marries the boldness of black tea with the fragrant allure of Italian bergamot, enveloped in sumptuous chocolate notes. Savor the velvety, smooth, dessert-like qualities of this infusion, accentuated by the earthy warmth of roasted carob and the delicate beauty of cornflower petals. Each sip transports you to a world of serene contemplation, where the rich flavors unfold to create a moment of pure bliss.

Extra Info:

The exact origin of the Earl Grey blend remains a mystery, with various tales attributing its creation to different events. One such story suggests that the blend was developed by a Chinese mandarin tea master as a gift for Lord Grey, specifically designed to counteract the hard water at his Howick Hall estate. The addition of bergamot oil not only helped to soften the taste of the water but also added a unique and fragrant flavor that would become the hallmark of Earl Grey tea.

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 212°F. Add 1 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 4 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Organic: roasted carob, black tea, chocolate pieces (soy), natural bergamot flavor, rose petals, and cornflower petals

I’m so thankful to have found this! There is a tea at a nearby cafe that I’ve fallen in love with but costs about $60-70 shipping just to get a small bag (which is something I definitely couldn’t rationalize within my budget). I’ve tried replicating it at home with no success and nowhere near me sells anything similar. I found this site by chance while trying to find the ingredient list for the other brand’s tea so I could try to make a more faithful dupe. The option of a free sample interested me and the shipping options were also very nice (like splitting the cost or paying forward). This tastes almost exactly like the one I’d been trying so hard to recreate! <3 It’s a wonderfully comforting earl grey with just enough chocolate taste to satisfy that craving. It’s not sweet but isn’t bitter either. It’s a little bit hard for me to describe, but just trust that it’s an amazing tea! I’m back to buy a full size and try others. :) tldr; very yummy tea, very reasonable prices, highly recommend trying it

I think I’m just not a chocolate black tea person. It does have a nice cocoa-y aftertaste. I love cacao nibs in some herbal blends, but in black tea I’d rather drink something else (like Black Tea Cardamom). Thanks, NMTea, for letting me sample a tea each month and find out what are not my favorites, and are.

My favorite tea but i did prefer when you used shaved chocolate instead of chips.

This was the first tea I tried from NM Tea Co. and it is fabulously tasty! I'm partial to a good Earl Grey and this is quickly becoming a favorite. The chocolate notes are perfect with the usual Earl Grey taste. Five stars!
